This year, GingerWork had the pleasure of collaborating with the amazing team of Jai Thep on their wonderful grassroots festival in Northern Thailand near Chiang Mai.
It is now confirmed that we will be working together with their team on Quest Festival 2017.
To build this partnership with our sister festival across the boarder, GingerWork invites Jai Thep to come to Hanoi and deliver to you, our most excellent audience and community, the most creative and musically magical experience we can muster, and we can muster a lot.
Everything run through the custom build KANNON SOUND VIETNAM system we will bring in for the night.
The Creative Artillery will be supporting with a Tie Die Workshop on Friday so you can become part of the art on the night - we will projection map onto you with what you make from the workshops/
BirdCage will be utterly transformed in a living breathing psychedelic glowing cave full of stalagmites, crystals and mind bending visuals.
Rafiki's is where we will come together, hug and laugh after the madness and wind down by dancing it out into the evening.

** What is Jai Thep Festival ? **
A grassroots community built festival doing unbelievable things with simple materials, amazing energy and community vibe that reminds us of Quest.
// What will happen on the night? //
We are working with an all star team from both GingerWork and Jai Thep creative production teams to create a entirely new set - acid fusion glowing crystal cave with glowing stalagmites, projection mapped tie die crystals and giant star disco ball sun hovering over the water. A feast upon your senses.
// What music will there be? //
Well we are glad that you asked. We are inviting two of our favorite DJs from the Jai Thep Team, plus partnering them with some Hanoi Powerhouses of badass tunes. - 4NTHRO : Cybernetic Psychedelia
4NTHRO is a humongous tiny thing of sonic proportions. The love child of Pablo Yang, 4NTHRO is a live cybernetic one man orchestra, played 100% on live instruments. From pounding beats to tender thoughts, a fusion of man and machine whirls and dervishes in the inalienable pursuit of totally-whack-ass music.

Hailing from Germany and music director of Jai Thep - Jannis is know for seriously eclectic sounds and the name says is all. Funky, Deep, Tribal. He sets the tone for the night with prowess.

Josh produces his own music, plays in one of Chiangs Mai's most love bands Dead As Disco and DJ's some of the most fun and perfectly selected/missed tunes we have heard, except things to go from worlds music beats to tech house with slices of hip hop and funky drops through out. A real master of crafting the vibe.

Humb has been DJing and producing for 14 years and has played sets all over the world, from tiny bars to abandoned soviet missile hangers. This year he is celebrating 10 years of his Jigsore sound imprint and his 10th sell out vinyl release. Now living in Hanoi Humb has been a regular at Quest Festival and co-manages The Birdcage. Most known for his jungle production his sets pulls inspiration from a range of sounds and he will be spinning tropical, uk funky and afrobeat for the Gingerwork crew.

Etza - Most Loved scottish badman, artist and musical brain who both produces his own music, DJ's and creates art that drops jaws on the regular. This Gingerwork etza will be wowing the dancefloor with his signature jungle infused tropical bass music.

The Golden Boy of Hanoi's homegrown talent and a ling time favorite of Quest Festival - Tung wins the award for being the most asked after DJ at the GingerWork Debut at Birdcage. People want him back - so here is his. Expect something including disco sounds to space house and some techno but always so well tuned that the darker edge walks the line of the light and send the audience wild.
The Red Squirrel : Quest
This enigmatic animal has been know to venture out on the decks only on the rarest of occasions for fear of being hunted for his glorious red pelt. Playing a mixture of sounds depending on mood - things can go from uplifting vocal house beats to chunky tech sounds and even some slices of rather naughty fidget bass. This rare hanoi species must be kept away from direct sunlight and well watered with gin.
