We are really happy and excited to welcome Ayoub and Younes, the twins from Algeria, for a Berber Barbecue on the Kobala’s rooftop on the Saturday 30th of September. They are inviting you in a journey into their world and culture sharing their passion for food, music and brotherhood.

For the anecdote, when they first cooked for their mom, she refused to eat, but since then they have acquired amazing skills in cooking the different Algerian mezze they have been eating since they were kids.

The two twins Ayoub and Younes are originally from Oran, the second largest city in Algeria which is deeply embedded into the Algerian artistic culture and cuisine. They have been separated for a few years when they both left Algeria, and got to live again together in Hanoi. Being both in the same city, they have decided to create a collective called “The Twins Project” mixing culinary art, music, architecture and system D with inspirations from their motherland Algeria, their deep connections with the Mediterranean sea and their Berber origins.

For this really special night, they collaborated with the Kobala team to prepare delicious mezze options.

Char-grilled marinated green peppers compote and with stir-fried onions and tomatoes, along with a green mix salad.

. Karrota
Mashed carrots served with cumin and parsley

. Denjal
Eggplant caviar flavoured with garlic and olive oil

. Twins Salad
Cucumber and cherry tomatoes flavoured with the unique Twins vinaigrette

. Stuffed tomatoes with caramelised onions and old style Dijon mustard

. Berber chicken skewer
Marinated chicken breast in spices, cumin, curcumine, ginger, paprika and lemon, slowly grilled on the barbecue.

We will also get our resident Tok playing with one of the two twins, Kuba, making his first set at Kobala with some House, Funk and Disco tracks.
